About this category

Bacteriostatic water in two volumes. Bacteriostatic Water is available in 3mL and 10mL sealed glass vials. The 3mL size suits smaller laboratory preparations. The 10mL size suits work where one container is accessed several times.

What it is. Bacteriostatic water is conventionally defined as sterile water with a small amount of benzyl alcohol added as a preservative. The preservative inhibits bacterial growth, which is why it is supplied in multi-use containers. Sterile water, by contrast, contains no preservative and is typically single-use once opened. Our guide, Bacteriostatic vs Sterile Water in the Lab, explains how the two differ.

Clear, checkable information. The product page lists available volumes, form, container type and general storage conventions.

Handled like every order. Supplies are packed in the same discreet, professional packaging as the rest of the catalog and processed promptly once payment is confirmed.

Research supplies are sold for laboratory research use only and are not for human or veterinary use.
