Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide developed as an analog of tuftsin, a naturally occurring tetrapeptide. A&A Wellness supplies Selank as a lyophilized powder in a 10mg vial.
Single-strength simplicity. One 10mg format keeps reordering consistent from batch to batch.
Clear records. Each vial is labeled with the compound name and strength.
Where it fits. Selank is one of two short synthetic peptides in our catalog. Its counterpart, Semax, was developed at the same research institute from a different parent sequence.
Consistent format. Both are supplied as 10mg lyophilized vials.
Selank is sold for laboratory research only. It is not a drug, food, cosmetic or dietary supplement and is not for human or veterinary use.
Classification. Selank has the sequence Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro. It consists of the tuftsin sequence (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg) extended with a Pro-Gly-Pro tail, a modification described in the literature as increasing resistance to enzymatic breakdown.
How it has been studied. Selank was developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Much of the published research on it comes from Russian research groups and includes animal-model studies of behavior and neurochemistry, as well as gene-expression work. Researchers frequently discuss Selank alongside Semax, a peptide developed at the same institute from a different parent sequence.
Regulatory status. Selank is not approved by the FDA for any use. The A&A Wellness product is a research material for laboratory use only.
Structure and stability. Native tuftsin is a short peptide that is broken down quickly by enzymes. The added Pro-Gly-Pro sequence is the key design feature researchers point to when explaining why Selank was developed as a more stable analog.
Read Selank: Research Overview and the side-by-side Selank vs Semax comparison.
Keep it sealed. Store lyophilized Selank in its sealed vial, cold, dry and away from light. Freezing is the usual convention for longer-term storage.
Handle deliberately. Short peptides are sensitive to moisture, so let the vial reach room temperature before opening.
Reconstituted solutions. Refrigerate and label prepared material. More detail is in the Peptide Storage Guide.
FAQ
Selank is a synthetic analog of tuftsin, a naturally occurring four-amino-acid peptide. A Pro-Gly-Pro sequence is added to the tuftsin sequence to form the seven-amino-acid Selank molecule.
Selank was developed in Russia, and a large share of its published literature comes from Russian research institutions. Our education page summarizes that body of work.
Both are heptapeptides with a Pro-Gly-Pro tail, but Selank is based on tuftsin while Semax is based on a fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH). Our Selank vs Semax guide compares them.
No. Selank is sold for laboratory research only and is not for human or veterinary use.
