Classification. Tesamorelin is a 44-amino-acid synthetic analog of human GHRH. Its sequence is modified at the N-terminus with a trans-3-hexenoyl group, a change described in the literature as improving stability against enzymatic degradation compared with native GHRH.

How it has been studied. As a GHRH analog, Tesamorelin has been studied for its activity at the GHRH receptor and its effect on pituitary growth hormone signaling. It has been the subject of preclinical research and published clinical trials. In research contexts it is often grouped with other growth hormone secretagogues, such as CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin, which act through different receptors or mechanisms.
